"Have vacationed in FWB for 32 years. We stayed in this particular unit 12 years ago. The condition of this unit was awful. The same furnishings and in horrible condition. To find a piece of chewed gum on the floor was a little much. I was very displeased in the condition of this unit.

"This was my 5th or 6th time staying at an El Matador unit, though this was my first time booking outside their own booking system. The price was low enough that I was honestly concerned it might be a scam, but it definitely wasn't! The process for making your final payment could be a little more clear (there's a long rental agreement to sign which seems to indicate you pay your balance by check, but you can just have them use your card on file).

We arrived on a Sunday and someone working outside the AJH office greeted us quickly and handed us our keys. The guard at the gate for El Matador already had our info and made us a parking pass. The room itself was clean, though a little dated. But again, the savings was pretty significant, and frankly we spend so little time IN the room that it's easy to overlook that stuff. Also, I will always rent a ground floor unit from now on; it's just so convenient to walk right out and be 50ft from the pool, no need to lug stuff up the elevator, easy storage of wet chairs on the deck, etc etc.

No real complaints other than pretty low water pressure in the master shower, and this particular unit didn't have some of the basic necessities that other units have provided in the past (like dish soap for handwashing dishes, table salt, and was short on pillowcases). It's nice to *not* have to immediately run to the store for stuff like this. Also, I'd humbly recommend some bath mats for the showers to help keep the towels clean.

FYI, the Tom Thumb right down the road has a LOT of these basic necessities, meaning you don't have to drive across the bridge for the publix.

Also, the listing isn't super clear, but there IS a keurig machine as well as a standard coffee maker.

"We come to El Matador every year with a large group and many of us use Alecia Hollis. Very pleased with the service and the condo. We have stayed in unit 316 many times but it needs a little TLC. Small things like a new bathmat (That one has been there at least 7 years and seen better days), a few light bulbs need to be replaced above table...minor things.
I appreciate the well stocked kitchen.
Coming into the condo from the patio was the worst part. No grass, only sand. There were a couple pieces of corroded, rusty pipe, trash in the sand but I removed those.
Staying in same unit next year so overall a good condo.

Perfect Room for a Perfect Vacation

"Ground floor access for our young kids and big kids to go back and forth to and from the pool was a great pick. The room was clean, came with everything we needed. The larger beds in the second bedroom helped us out, we were comfortable with 2 toddlers and 2 teens in that room. The facility was clean and we felt safe the whole time leaving things on our patio and our slider open for our children.

"Our condo was Wonderful! When we first walked in we could smell how clean it was and everything looked extremely clean as well. We were not happy with being on the first floor at first but it didn't take long to realize that this was one of the best rentals we have ever had on Okaloosa Island. The convenience was SO Nice! We will definitely be back!

"We stayed in this unit over Christmas vacation. The unit was clean and tastefully decorated with a beach theme. Since it was on the ground floor, it was easily accessed from the parking lot and we could exit through the back door to the pool and beach. I would recommend this unit.
